Non-Executive Director (NED)

Our company is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director (NED) to join our board of directors. This individual will play a crucial role in providing strategic guidance and industry expertise to support the growth and success of our organisation.

The NED will be responsible for offering independent advice and contributing to the effective governance of the company. They will work closely with the executive team and other board members to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with our corporate objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Non-Executive Director or in a senior leadership role within a startup environment, preferably within the manufacturing and software industry.
  • Experience to be the voice of our customers and partners who are manufacturers, CAM Software, machine tool or cutting tool companies
  • Strong understanding of product-market fit and building customer confidence.
  • Experience with investor relations, fundraising, and managing investor expectations and growing a startup company.
  • Entrepreneurial experience of selling SaaS solutions to SMEs
  • Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities associated with scaling a business.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or related sectors would be required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the executive team on matters of corporate strategy, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Challenge assumptions and provide constructive criticism to ensure robust decision-making processes.
  • Act as a voice of the customer, advocating for customer-centric approaches and ensuring alignment with market needs.
  • Support the executive team in navigating investor relations and fundraising efforts.
  • Uphold high standards of corporate governance and ethical conduct, acting in the best interests of the company and its stakeholders.

Time Commitment:

The role requires a flexible time commitment, including attendance at board meetings and additional ad-hoc engagements as required. Approximately 2 days per month are expected, with flexibility for urgent matters and strategic initiatives.
